An Accumulator or Mainsboost Vessel is designed for mains pressurised systems ie. unvented hot water cylinders, combi boilers and system boilers, whereby the incoming mains pressure is above 2.5 bar, but yet the internal flow rate is slow as it is inadequate to meet the household’s demands.
An Accumulator stores cold water under pressure, ready to deliver instant, high-flow water supply to multiple outlets, even during high usage times of the day.
If your incoming mains water pressure is less than 2.5 bar, the system can be upgraded with a Mainsboost Charger pump. This pump works alongside the vessel to boost both pressure and flow, providing a comprehensive fix for low-pressure households.
